    deterioration issue ? What year and mint is it

    It could be a die chip, but it could also be a plating bubble.
    As Duece suggested, always provide the year and mint, and full pix of both sides.
    Full-er information allows us to give you full-er answers.

    That is not a die clash. If it were, the beard would be further to the right instead of nearly central
