Hello all, this is my first post here. Just wondering what you all think this 1888-S Morgan dollar grades at, what it's worth, and whether or not it is worth sending in to PCGS. Mainly I'm curious as to whether or not I paid a fair price. Thank you in advance.

    If I had to guess, I'd say AU58. Value, $150 - $200. JMO.

The real grade is AU-58 which the Greysheet says is worth $195. but it's not certified, so it's more like $150 to $160. In the best case scenario you could get it graded, and it would come back MS-61 or 62. In that case it’s worth $275 to $300. It all depends upon where grade-flation is these days.

This coin might look better if it were dipped. The toning is not attractive.

eye appeal on them are a big factor also, frosty white original, will get much more than average market, while dull luster will get less. same grade.
