Whats that stuff that you put in a box and it absorbs humidity from the air? Can it be found around town? If so, where? Or will I probably have to mail order it?

It's called silica gel. I got some on eBay, but you might try Home Depot or someplace like that.

Locksmiths usually have it in rechargeable cannisters designed for use in keeping humidity low in safes. The pellets are bluish-tinged, and when they turn pink you put the can in the oven at a low temperature until they turn blue again. I've found them to be more cost effective than the "moisture absorber" pellets marketed under the Martha Stewart name at KMart. Those gradually dissolve and you have to buy refills!

You can cook this things at a relatively low oven temperature and use them again. Gun dealers usually sell them also.

It is not safe to do this with all silica gel packs. ONLY with the specially designed packs can you do this.

So please - DO NOT stick just any silica gel pack into the oven !!
