I see some rubs (Libertys' hair), and a few cuts (nicks?) on the eagle feathers on the reverse.....au-58.
Tough to tell from the image (is it a scan or just an out of focus photo?) I would guess MS63 -- I don't see the rub and I am not sure the marks on the feathers are scratches. I also wonder if it's been overdipped, but again I can't tell if that's an artifact of the scan/photo.
hey thanks for all your opinions! the coins looks great in hand (lots of luster) it's the best Peace Dollar I own ... but i can see this grading only AU 58 ... when i first saw it i thought it might be a MS 62/63 i think its one of those coins that looks better than it grades
by the way ... it's a scan ... but it was scanned inside one of those plastic air-tite holders ... i think that made the scan blurry
i bought it off ebay about 2 months ago for $140 ... it was advertised as Ch. BU It's a lower mintage date 1934-D but i think since it's probably an AU 58 ... it's only worth maybe $60??? still i like the coin ... win some lose some, right?
actually ... i take that back ... my memory failed me ... i just checked my records ... it was advertised as "Frosty Brilliant Unc" on ebay but I only paid $79.05 in an ebay auction ... so it looks like i paid close to the right amount for an AU-58
