A couple large size added to my collection today - what value do you give them??? After I get a few answers I'll let you know how I did. I think I paid fair value, but we shall see what you think first. I'll tell you that I didn't get a couple that I would have liked to like the two shown here and a .25 fractional (F-1309) in VF to EF condition due to one edge rolled and slightly damaged. It would have been AU otherwise. Thanks ~ Darryl
My estimate..(opinion only) Scans can be deceving ya know... Darryl... the Fr# 237..looks to be a high Grade VF to a mid grade XF... I would say $50-60.00 (Nice Note) The $1 Legal Tender is an Fr #38 the most scarce of the signature groups...it look to be a VF35 and will run anywhere from $60-95$...there are Mule varieties for this note so check it good. Need an enlarged reverse image as my eyes are starting to go..LOL Need better pics on the $2 note. But it is an Fr#60 Nice pick ups!! RickieB
The two was an F-60 in EF40 condition. RickieB - on the LT the front plate is micro F61 - how do I figure out if it's a mule? Is there a back plate number? BTW my book has VF35 at about $140? EF20 at $120? That's from the most recent red book. I also graded about the same as you, maybe slightly better. It looks better in hand than the high res camera shows. It actually looks better than the SC. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Darryl... The Back Plate # is in the (Left) open white field on the reverse at 6:00 O'clock.. check it out!! The Back plate number will be Larger!! From what I can see it appears to be a Mule...These are hard to fine in higher grades...I just had an example walked through the Long Beach show and waiting to hear the grade report.. RickieB
Thanks - I have no idea how long I looked for it and it was right under my nose. The BP-Number is 2100 and is definitely larger than the front. Any effect on value?
Ya know Darryl come to think about it...almost every one of them that I have seen is a Mule... I am not certain on that (value added) to be honest. In the Comprehensive Catalog of US Paper Money there is no reference to that Fr# being a Mule..as well as most of the pricing guides I review.. Perhaps some one else may know?? RickieB
No problem RickieB - The red book does not go in depth enough to figure it out. Thanks for looking though!
I will check a few sources to see if I can find out ..I would like to know because that means there is another Fr# 38 variety to add...LOL RickieB
Thanks Darrylll..LOL After this year it is running a bit low Regards, RickieB P.S. The note I sent back was damaged and they are reslabbing I think... I will send ya a different note now that they have given me a credit. Sorry it got bent! Heads up in a week or so...:high5:
Thanks Rick!!! BTW - The F-1309 sold for $120 in VF35 to EF40 condition. I think this was the best deal of the auction. The fractional sold for $47 and I thought that was a bit high for a rolled and slightly damaged edge. My two notes sold for $140 for the pair. Like I said - I think it was a fair deal for the two. Take care! Darryl
if i can interject on this conversation not sure i can add much,as i think RickieB covered most everything lol but a few very nice ntoes USS!!
DJ...you are always welcome to join in :thumb:..heck Darryl and I were getting lonely!! Thanks for joining us..and you are right, they are nice notes!! RickieB
