    I have 1980 Proof Belize five dollar coin, (only 1,826 minted), and I can't find it on World Coin Gallery. Can anyone determine a value?

    This coin(Km#44 I think) should be worth between $20 to $30 depending on proof condition.

    My Krause (published 2004) gives a catalog value of 11.50 US$.
    The value of these coins is quite low when compared to the mintage numbers, but demand for these coins is almost unexisting, which results in a catalog value which is only a little above melt value.
    @kidromeo: it's KM#44a (silver coin)

    Thanks for the info Bart:).
    I don't own the standard catalog. I gave average pricing from several dealer websites. I guess their demands are getting high now or is it coin inflation:D.

    With the small mintage figures these coins have, demand mustn't rise much for increasing their value.
    For some time these Franklin Mint issues were that unpopular (despite their beautiful designs) they were sold at their intrinsic silver value.
    I have had myself the possibility to buy some of those Franklin Mint issues at melt value.

    Franklin mint mint NCLTs are still looked down by people and no true world coin collector care about these made for collectors only coins. I guess that explains lack of market demand for these coins. Although I still believe that $ 11.50 2004 prices are outdated and they ought to have risen somewhat.

    Sorry it took me awhile to respond. I went by a neighbors ranch and loaded and bull, then went back for a cow, and we took them to another pasture, so I've been off the computer for a while.
    Thanks for finding out what I could not. I was just curious, not thinking of selling. I gave $12 at a coin show because that was the price he had it marked and I liked the artwork.
