I have a souvenir set from both P and D mints from 1982 and 1983. Anyone out here that can tell me what they're worth? They are not listed in price guides at all that I know of. In fact, IIRC I have never even seen them on a Greysheet, either. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.
They're listed in the Redbook for $25, 20, 40, and 30. These prices are pretty low though since they usually go for 50 to $90 on eBay. You really should take some care when buying and selling these since a few of these coins sometimes appear as gems in the set. Notably the '83-P dime is worth $300 in gem and the '83-P quarter sells for quite a bit too. Some os these rarely appear as gems in the souvenir sets but for a few this is the primary source.
I bought a couple of each of both the 82 and 83 set years ago from an older gentleman in town. The packaging looks a little tacky on these sets and I reluctantly bought them from him for about $10 apiece at the time. I wish I could have picked up a few hundred the way they have gone up since then. I see the 82 going for 50 to 70 on ebay and the 83 going for between 70 and 90 dollars approximately.
