just curious what kinds of coins and their dates are in your pocket right now. all mine is from change at the office cafe within the past 48 hours.

here's what i have:

Lincoln cents: 1978, 1990, 1996D
Roosevelt dime: 1983D, 1989P, 1997P, 2001P, 2004P, 2005P, 2007P
Washington quarter: 1995P, 2007P - Idaho

a few IKES (for showing as examples when I ask for them at the bank)
a couple pounds of pennies,nickels,dimes,quarters, and halves
a few sacagaweas and presidential dollars (don't know the exact count)
several colombian coins (20 peso and 200 peso, don't ask why)
several misc. tokens pulled from the reject cup from the last couple times cashing in coins
2000 5 shillings somali coin
1983 1 nngwee coin from Zambia (worth $0.00000262 according to Yahoo currency converter)
1965 25 Aurar coin from Iceland

 

and before anyone asks, yes my pockets are heavy.

LOL....by that I meant that I dont have any old coins that I carry with me regularly, like an old Morgan or what have you. I was, in fact, very surprised to find the old wheat cent.

 

I make it a habit of checking every coin before I put it in my pocket. Much less likely to let one slip through my hands that way.

 

I was about to sya, looked like you listed a wheat cent. Nice find for the pocket. Did you know that it was in there? Only things I have in my pocket are my phone, and a 57 D Franklin in BU that I carry around sometimes for luck.

I would do that but I dont carry my loupe with me everywhere I go and without that I cant read the dates very well. I always go through my change at the end of every day before I put it in my jar. Plus, I dont use change when I buy something. I always pay with bills that way I get more coins back.

 

I had no idea that was in my pocket. I'll save it back with the rest of my hoard of wheaties.
