So I'm checking ebay on graded S VDBs. Looking at the completed auctions I have noticed something very strange. The price for VF20 is selling slightly more than VF30, am I missing something? Or do a lot of people just don't search for VF30 hence the lower price?

No, it's because a lot of people on ebay are really stupid.

This, unless the 30 was a lesser quality coin than the 20. Never assume a higher numerical grade is a superior coin. I will show you lots of 64's that are far superior to certain 65's.

I agree with Chris- grade isn't quality. In fact with copper, many times an XF or AU will be of better quality and eye appeal than an MS62, or even MS64. Grade is always the last aspect of a coin I consider when buying.
