What's an Omega worth?

    Hello group!
I have an acquaintance who claims to have a MCMVII St. Gaudens High Relief "Omega" and has no idea what to do with it. Apparently it's been cleaned, but is otherwise in excellent condition. I guess it was sent to PCGS or NCS for grading and it was determined to be an Omega. So... now what? It's been taken to dealers and they want nothing to do with it. One in particular said that Omega's are extremely sought after and have their own market, so how much would one be worth, and how would someone go about selling it if the dealers don't want them?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

They are "dark cabinet" coins - the your not supposed to have it, but want it anyway. Value on them is difficult to determine because they do not trade publicly, via auctions etc.

People tend to not go out and announce they have them. My best guess is that the value of the piece would be determinate on the value of the gold and a bit more for the Omega provenance - if indeed it is one of the Omega counterfeits.

Typically counterfeit gold coins tend to sell for whatever the value of the gold is - curiously some even have more gold than the actual coins because the forgers were not accurate enough.
