Whats a MS 64 1885 S Morgan Worth?

  3. It depends on the grading company. If it's NGC or PCGS probably a good bit over 500 dollars. If not... it all depends on whether the coin was overgraded or not. If you post pictures, we can give you a better answer

    Well, according to numismedia (NGC's Price Guide), your coin's fair market value (FMV) is $66.

    With stars it is different though... toning and star designations in general fetch a pretty nice premium.

    Is that what the S is for? I thought it meant series.
     
  7. Well on the NGC holder, S$1 means Silver $1.

    Empire has an MS-64 pcgs red/orange toning (no star) for $62. If that helps any...

    Well you can see that it's silver. Wouldn't that S be for being minted in San Francisco?

    From what I can see it doesn't deserve the grade or the star designation. Just my opinion.
