ok so I saw a couple Bust 1/2 dollars today that caught my eye. I just want to have one in my collection not to actually start a set. With that in mind,

1824 over 1 ANACS VF details, improperly cleaned
1837 ANACS (Black Label) XF details, scratched
1829 (NGC) XF Details, improperly cleaned.

The dealer showed me the Grey Sheet from November and said to make an offer

Now going off of memory 1829 XF was $130.
    1837 XF was $75.
    1824 over 1 was $160.

Should I make an offer or stay away? If so what suggestions should I offer?

Either offer like 1/2 and get your offers rejected or pay the total for good clean examples and get them problem free, with a better resale if you had too, nicer coins, and the increased quality of your collection... I advise the second to wait and get nice Bust Half Dollars.

Unless you really want a Bust Half, I would just wait for a better one with no problems to come around. Here's my VF-20 PCGS graded, no problems and no known cleaning. I love it, I paid $125 for it, a little over price but I'm going to hold onto it for a while until the value jumps.

    Agreed.
I don't want a coin in a DETAILS or GENUINE holder.
Costs more but worth it IMO.

Capped Bust Half Dollars without problems are not difficult to find and are affordable. I would pass and look for a better example, especially if it will be your only CBH.

punt, unless it is a rare/scarce variety

Well I will offer half and likely get rejected (trying to do the wishful thinking and actually hear him say "yes") and will look for better looking coins..

    TY guys!

Just pass and tell him the truth. There are a few I would buy and crack out for my album. And I did buy a few that were lightly cleaned - no harsh hairlines or polished badly - that I did crack out and put in my album. I also got them for about 1/2 of what a problem free example cost.
