I am interested in having this coin graded but I only want to do it if it is pretty good so I can show it off to my friends and family it has been in circulation before but it seems to be in great condition to me but I am new to this so I would not know.
Don't have it graded, it's a normal $1 coin worth $1. You can get thousands of them at your bank for face value.
so sad to hear then I have nothing good at all because I would say that is my best coin after my proof set.
Who said it wasn't good? Just because it may not be worth over face value does not mean it cannot be a good and cool coin. Never confuse the worth of a coin with what it is worth to you. Your collection should be about your pursuit of fun and education, never about retail value of your coins. Don't fret, you will build a sizable collection over time. I started out with a bunch of coins others poo poo'ed as low value, and I would hate to think, (honestly), how much my collection is today. Still, its about my pleasure and knowledge, not market value. Enjoy yourself and your coins, and forget about pricing sir.
Your correct and in more ways then one really. (@Jglake specifically) I am into model railroading and my father and his dad (my grandfather) built a layout in the basement, in that time, at the age of 7, my father bought his dad a steam locomotive, 50+ years have passed and almost 5 after my grandfathers' death and we have the engine back, even though the driveline isn't best and it is far outdated, it is worth more then the price of any new engine today.
