Here are a couple notes i received yesterday is a small box that was given to me. Normally i wouldnt bat an eye, but some of the notes given carry a dollar amount higher then i feel comfortable with without telling the giver said value before i accept. The following 2 notes, P-26b and P-27b both from Australia. Let me know what you think the notes should grade at: (the pictures might take a second to download, sorry) P-26b P-27b Thanks
DJ...my guess would be in order presented.. XF-F and VG Great notes you got there..how many were in the box?? RickieB
thanks Rickie. I was close with my grades, but i am usually harsh in grading lol Now comes the hard part! the krauss book lists these grades and prices for the Australian P-26b VG $25 --- VF $40 --- UNC $700 with an appx grade of XF, what might the value be? for the Australian P-27b note VG $50 --- VF $250 --- UNC $3,000 with an appx grade of F, what might its value be. For the Philippines note, P-52, Krauss lists G $50 --- F $200 --- XF $425 with an appx grade of VG, what might you think the value is? If the grades/prices listed were closer together, 1 might be able to 'guess' a value. But with such a spread in values fromthe grades listed... its tough to garnish a value! In a search today, i was unable to locate examples of each note for sale for comparison. I am going to call the person who gave me the box (BTW the box had 24 notes, and 10 coins) and tell her that some of these notes have some serious value behind them, and ask if she would like them back. I will give her the option to either take them back, or i could sell them on her behalf, and forward her the proceeds. I cannot buy them myself is she wants to sell.... i got too much going on right now, and barely enough funds to go around lol
i talked to the person who gave me these notes. After we chatted for a while, she asked that if i kept them, if i would sell them. I told her that NO if she wanted me to have them, i would keep them in my collection - she told me she has no use for the notes, and that she wanted me to have them at least now i dont feel guilty, after telling her possible values, keeping the notes
That was very nice of her,I knew a neighbor who gave me a box of 50 foreign coins her husband left her & told her to give them to me I didn't collect foreign so I didn't know values ,she said that she wanted me to just have them from her husband who had passed away...Their are some very nice thoughtful people out there & I will never forget her & her husband as long as I'm here !
