Last months results made me want to cry. I'd have to pull up the results but I think it was like 3-4 halves for 9k -10k searched! Not throwing in the towel but I have gotten backed up with trying to pick up my boxes due to lost motivation, and lots of spring yard work. going to cancel my ongoing orders for a couple weeks.

what would cause you to just quit searching completly, if anything.

What is the min amount of silver per month your would put up with?
will the dropping silver price cause you to loose interest?
how much static from the tellers will you put up with?
whats the max gas price you will pay to drive all over creation for coins?

I stopped searching bank boxes since the beginning of the year. Believe me, it's a fun way to find silver/copper, especially for the beginning collectors and stackers. I think the big difference makers are time and money. I've been pooling my time and money into the core part of my collection (Type sets, early commems, early coinage), and less trying to find any precious metals, especially with the range silver has been trading at. It's not worth the money, or the time for me.

I feel for you. I stopped searching boxes of halves due to the small amount of silver I found. It was pitifully low. I think 1 or 2 64's, 1 63D Frankie, and about 5 40%ers. Out of about 5 or 6,000 worth of searching.

So occasionally I ask for a hundred worth of rolls of halves at a bank, but I don't order boxes of them anymore.

I quit after one box that I got yesterday, getting rid of it today didn't win me any popularity at the dump bank.

I might try customer rolls and loose coins but no more ordering boxes here.

I have switched back to searching currency so that is one reason why I have stopped searching coins for right now. Another is that I have been very busy with school which takes up a lot of my time. Furthermore, buying rolls of coins and going through them is tedious. Going through rolls of coins gets your fingers very dirty and they are quite heavy as well as bulky to carry to/from banks.

I've only roll searched twice but I'm certainly hooked. Perhaps a large man with a machete could make me stop. Nah..probably not;)

As long as I find something worthwhile, even if it's just one coin--I won't stop!
