Could someone please tell me what type of error this is? I would also like to know how this would occur in the printing process. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

I retained the recent Lynn Knight/Gregg Anderson Error note collection catalog looking for something equivalent to yours, and what I would guess is, this would be considered an Offset First Print error. The offset printing is on the surface and exists as a mirror image of the note's opposite side. The offset or wet ink transfer places a retrograde image on the wrong side of the bill. Just my guess, and maybe someone else can add or clarify.

Thanks for your input Steve. I believe I got this note in change 4 or 5 years ago, and just thought it was interesting enough to keep.

Yes, an offset error. Pretty dark one, too. They fade after a few are produced.
