I recently got two gold coins graded by ngc and am debating on if I should trade them strait across for a 37d three leg or keep them . The gold coins are a $2 1/2 1908 indian it graded au58, and a 1908 $5 liberty it graded ms61. the three leg is graded by pcgs at a xf 40.

Well since I don't care for the Buffoles in the least I'd keep the gold.

You obviously want the buffalo. If you will be happy with the buffalo, then you should buy it or trade for it as necessary.

The gold coins will probably always be easier to sell than a buffalo. However, a nice 3-leg buffalo is a sought-after coin & should also be easily marketable. Can you post a photo of the buffalo?

Keep the gold! If you want the 3 legged Buffalo save for it! But, definitely keep the gold!

Or I could trade for a 1886 and 1885 v-nick in ngc holders in g6 and ag4 for the same gold coins. now what do you think of that?

Those Liberty nickels are much difficult to find & more marketable in fine condition or better. IMHO the two gold coins would be better to keep in your collection. If you want to see some really nice 1885 nickels, then I could probably find some photos to post.
