I have 6 rolls on UNC State Quarters, and don't really want to hold on to them. I have tried to list them here in the open section with no luck, and don't want to mess with the ebay fees. I paid like 12.50 each back in 02 when i bought them, so kinda dont want to lose that money by dumping them back into the wild.
The local banks will take them, as long as they are still rolled. Or the laundramat. Or the car wash?
unc rolls you might try the 'buy sell trade forum' on the www.pcgs.com coin site. you need only to sign up to the site....very easy. good luck! steve
That's the upside of collecting circulating coins. You can always spend them. The only hobby I know where you spend money and end up with money.
Why did you buy the rolls and pay a premium for them? If you were hoping for a profit and it didn't materialize than maybe you need to take the loss and move ahead with your next purchase. Your loss is only $15. If you don't need the cash and can hold onto the rolls that you paid $75 for, you may find someone willing to trade something you want for them. I bought over 200 rolls of statehood quarters so far, and over 150 rolls of Westward Journey nickels so far. I got them all for face value for my son to trade in the future. They're all 'D' mint bank rolls so we'll be looking for a trading partner for 'P' rolls. edited
You might always consider going through the rolls and saving the gems as well. You'll have a high cost for each coin but at least the bulk of your money won't be inflating away.
Actually 12.50 isn't that much of a premium. If you're sick and tired of them, just cash them in. You'll only lose $2.50 a roll. Or as CladKing said, go trough and cherry pick and dump the rest.
So I walk into a bar and there's a coin collector, a stamp collector and a baseball collector........
Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't the U.S. Mint unc. state quarter rolls, especially the 1999-2002's still worth a slight premium? According to the CDN they were about a month ago, but I haven't checked lately.
You can check with the local Coin Dealers as they may need the rolls you have to replenish their stock! You may only get $1 over face per roll but that is better than spending them or cahing them in! Frank
I wouldn't spend them, take them to a local dealer possibly, they might want them, and give you a dollar or two over face. Or you can try your luck with open forums on other boards, or www.coinbug.com. Best of luck with what ever you decide. :thumb: Phoenix
