I just joined this credit union where a relative of mine is a member. She dumped a box of skunk halves there. I didn't realize you don't need to be a member to use their coin machine. I joined and dumped rolls there I got from my regular bank but since they have coin machines, I was curious about what their boxes were like. I ordered a box of dimes and a box of pennies. The box of pennies they didn't need to order, a customer brought in a bunch of rolls. After finding 2 silver rooses and a 1934 and 1941 mercury dimes I wanted to try the dimes again. I went to the bank to pick them up and I was told that this is the last box they are going to order because they cost them money. What should I do just cancel the membership and just use the free coin counting or just close my account and not go back? I know anytime I want rolls, as long as they have them available at my other bank, they give them to me.

Why not just ask if they have any rolls available rather than ordering a box. Customer rolled coins do not cost them, box orders and delivery does.

Yes, the last box of pennies I ordered were rolls someone brought in. I know there is another bank around here that has free coin machines for customers that used to be free for non-members as well. The teller new that I was looking for old coins. The good thing about the other bank is that they have multiple branches I can get coins from and dump at a different branch. I think that is why I can always find rolls when I ask for them at my main bank since they don't have a coin machine and I do get customer rolled coins.
