So i was thinking about this the other day, if you could design a SAE or a SAE set what would it be?

    i had a couple ideas
    first i would like to see a 5 coin fractional silver series with a 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, 1/10oz 1/20oz in reverse proof

another one would be a two coin set,
the obverse would be a obverse (walking liberty) proof and the reverse ( eagle) would be a regular proof
the second coin in the series would be the exact opposite with walking liberty as a normal proof and the eagle as a reverse

a cheap special set they could do, would be to offer a copper, solid nickel, clad, brass, aluminium, steel/zinc (like the 1943 penny) you wouldnt have to offer all of these but i would definitely order a set that included a solid copper, solid nickel and silver american eagle

i do like the silver american eagle series but my only complaint is that for the most part each year is the same design except for the reverse proof and the new enhanced version being rolled out this year. I pretty much just collect the anniversary/special sets. i know there are some people that only collect the standard SAE and stay away from the specialty sets

anyways i just wanted to see what other designs you guys can come up with

If I was hired to be the director of the mint I would stop making so many varieties of it. Special sets are no longer special when you have one every year.

Also, I would stop labeling the monster boxes with any indication of whether they came from West Point or San Francisco, so the TPGs stop with the (W) and (S) labels. Those labels are confusing for collectors and do more harm to the hobby than good.

I saw a 2012 (W) PCGS MS69 sell on ebay for the low $50s with the price of silver in the low $20s. The person who bought it must have thought they were getting one that had a W mint mark.

Having said that, I am planning to buy this year's West Point set.

I'd like to see fractional silver but I don't think that will happen anytime soon......

Keep everything the same with the Silver Eagles. It's the most recognizable and trusted bullion coin out there.
Leave the gimmicks to the commemoratives.
