My 80 year old neighbor brought over a box of coins for me to take a look at. In the box was an old envelope with two english notes( 1 pound, 10 shilling), A 2 pound Ceylon 1945 bill and this $10 bill wrapped in a piece of paper that had " special series" written on it. I do not know anything about U.S. paper currency so I am asking for opinions on what is so special about this bill. Thanks zeke
I want to add that I carefully unfolded these bills and after scanning them I put them separately into small food baggies. I was dissappointexd that whoever wanted to save them , folded them. They've been that way for at least twenty years I would believe. I am going to post pics of the other bills too.
just by looking at it nothing seems out of the ordinary. it is a shame when people store currency all folded up. i knew this lady i worked with that had a bunch of old red seal $5 notes folded up and sitting in her wallet:headbang:
Well the note is in pretty tough shape.. the upper right Suffix letter "H" is into the design just a little or so it appears..but this is trivial and not worth any premium. ***Edited..my mistake*** RickieB
That's an official range, not an observed range--by the 1950 series we've got good BEP data on the regular notes. This series covered B75240001F to B46080000H.
Whoops!! My mistake..I am getting old.. and it is right in the book as well. Thanks for the correction.. RickieB
