This Large Cent resides in my Dansco Type Book. What do you think? Straight grade or Details? Thanks.
It's a nice album coin but I would lean towards details (the surfaces look a bit rough from my vantage point).
The details grade is good to very good, with partial obverse surface roughness, possibly from damage or lite corrosion. My guess is it would earn a Details grade, even though it still is a nice old cent.
I think it has vg sharpness with enough environmental issues to not straight grade. Decent coin though.
G-6 Details, Environmental Damage/Corrosion. Decent coin especially for this series 1808-14 where the planchet material was poor. Granularity is very common on this series.
I don’t think you are going to buy this for less than VG money. Low grade (Good) examples of this type look terrible.
Lots of ware on the obverse, especially in to and around the date also the strike is way off but still a nice example
