What should I do with a large lot of BU Modern Kennedy Halves?

I decided to try some roll searching recently and while searching for silver Kennedy Halves, I got a box that was about 75-80% BU 2001D Kennedy Halves.

Here is my question? Can I sell these for enough to cover auction fees and shipping?

These have an incredible luster and aside from minor contact marks, are beautiful to look at. While I bought them rolled, it looks as if they came from a bag since some of the coins show a canvas bag pattern on the back and others are beginning to tone in a crescent shape indicating the outline of where another coin was resting against it.

It seems a shame to dump them into a coin counter, which will simply add more contact marks to them.

    Sellable? Any pricing suggestions? Thanks!

Try $3 each, that should cover shipping and the auction fees and leave you with a $.75-1.00 profit on each.

Did a quick advanced search on Ebay and a lot of them listed at $.69 and $.99 didn't sell. You might sell a few and make a couple bucks if you put them on there, but to me it doesn't seem to be worth the time and aggravation of having to deal with ebay buyers.

I'd sell them as a large lot. Maybe not all together, but you could do 5 rolls per lot. Use Ebay/Paypal Fees Calculator to check what to sell them for.

The Mint didn't release these until 2004. I can't recall if any were sold in rolls or larger bags, but I bought from the earliest 2004 release when they were in $100 Mixed P&D bags. I was heavily into searching bank rolls at that time, and the market was flooded with BU 2001 Kennedy's that were not good enough for grading.

Spend them. If you want more go to a casino and ask for change.

    Thanks for the input...

    Thanks everyone...

I took all of the suggestions and sort of blended them together.

I posted a huge lot of 576 of them on eBay at $1/each (but the whole lot has to go) along with a Best Offer option.

I'll see what happens. Past auctions had prices from 75¢ to $4 per coin. Since I don't have too much time to run a bunch of smaller auctions, I thought I'd try one big one and the Best Offer options will give people an opportunity to throw a price out there.

    Thanks again for the suggestions.
