Coming up June 30th ! I think they are now a little more than $50 http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...1&parent_category_rn=10191&top_category=10191
A coin worth $50 that you like. It's difficult for anyone to suggest a single coin without knowing your collecting interests. Everyone will give you their preference based on their own interests. Chris
The highest grade 1909 VDB cent you can get. A burnished Silver Eagle 2009 proof or ms Lincoln Commem 1932 Washington quarter in ms63 or ms64 (if u can find) 1996W dime 1938 D/S Buffalo nickel in MS or 5000... 2011 cents
For 50 bucks you could get a very nice mint state winged liberty dime. Or a real nice indian head cent. You could pick up a very nice certified Ike dollar, a walking liberty half in real nice condition, or you could pick up about a buck eighty face of junk silver. You could get a stone mountain commemorative half dollar, or a columbian exposition half dollar, you could pick up a later date mint state buffalo nickel, there are tons of coins you could pick up for a fitty dollah note. Or you could put that money away and save up for something else.
I second this opinion. By something you like and will hold. If you just buy a coin a couple years from now you might realize it does not fit into your collection and you sell for a loss. Or you can save this $50 and the next time your see something you need for your collection you have fall back money.
