What make a 3 ounce silver bar worth over $380?

I posted this on the ebay board too but it may get pulled since the auction is still active. I've been thinking about building a collection of odd sized silver bars and rounds and this one fit my automatic ebay search. But why is this so desireable? are they really that rare?

It's, as you have stated soooooo many times, worth whatever someone will pay for it, so far $381.00

 

The seller states the item smells like silver. Funny, I've never smelled silver before and I've had tons of it over the years. I'll have to sniff some of mine when the shop reopens monday.

 

I don't know everything about anything, but it looks to me like someone tried to homemake a silver ingot out of coin silver. (and then took it to have assayed) Personally, my top dollar would be $20.00.

 

I have a silver bar and it has a very distinct odor. Smells just like silver.
