    It's a common date. Perhaps VF-30 maybe a $5 coin.
Appears cleaned which makes it a $2 coin, but I can't tell from the photo.

@EatYourWheatPennies , it you'd crop your photos, they would be much more presentable. Just trying to help.

Edit: I dunno. I maybe more at VG-8 or F-12, but also agree with @Michael K in that I'm pretty sure it has been cleaned. Also, funky rim thing going on at 3 o'clock and 5 o'clock obverse.

I thought there was enough detail in LIBERTY and in the feathers for a higher details grade. But the photo is not crisp or close up enough to determine.

I am also in the VF details camp.
It is very shiny and smoothed over, yes, it has been cleaned.

I would guess F15. I really can't tell from the pictures whether or not it has been polished at one time.

If you were to sell coins like this could you?

the lighting on the coin makes it impossible to determine it has been cleaned. Appears to have full letters on LIBERTY, maybe a VF coin.

352sdeer Collecting Lincoln cents for 50 years!

Sure that’s what EBay is for. You could cut that cent up into four pieces and give some cock and bull story about it and you’ll sell all four pieces within 3 days. AND have happy feedback. EBAY IS STUPID. But yes some one would buy that coin. It’s your job to market it so it sells!

I have one that's a bit more detailed than the one in this photo. Mine does not appear to have been cleaned, and IIRC I paid about $8 for it.

Coins like that one sell quite actively on ebay. It is in better shape than my second 1889 and I would be glad to have it.

I must admit that I know little of the grading terminology that separate the casual collector from the experts.

Yes, as noted above, I must be one of those stupid people who buy most of their coins from eBay. Yesterday I bought three uncirculated 1940-PDS Mercury dimes, all with original luster for less than $4 each, shipping included. Wow! was I ever taken!

If you choose to sell on ebay post lots of clear photos and let the buyer do
the grading himself. No arguments that way. If you also start the bidding
at 99 cents no one will call you a crook no matter what it sells for.

Enjoy your IH cents - look for nice chocolate brown color (no shiny 'rubbed' highlights), full rims, legible 'LIBERTY' and clear shield lines - those have the best collector and resale value ;)

Of course it will sell. But a collector will factor in the cleaning and make you an offer you will refuse while a non-collector will offer you more only to have learned a lesson the hard way.

I'll call it VF, cleaned. Why not clean it more? See if you can get off the stuff adjacent to the rims on the reverse and in some of the lettering and the date on the obverse. You're not going to hurt its value, any, if you just remember, avoid anything that will scratch it or change the color. That means use inert solutions like water or nail polish remover (acetone) and wooden toothpicks to get into the crevasses. Don't use white vinegar, that will only ruin the color. Then, just enjoy it. It's a relic of the Old West.
