What is your coin addiction? What kind of coin do you consider your favorite feel free to post photos. Varieties and errors welcome for me I like Lincoln cent errors probably my favorite one would be the 1984 doubled ear. Thanks easy - shield nickel varieties and large cents. There are others I collect and like, but these two are my favorite.

Its like choosing children man. I could pic my avatar coin, (actually I own about 20 of these now), or one of 200 other "favorites". I am an esoteric collector, so my favorite coins rotate depending on my mood.

My brother got me into coin collecting. He was searching through my honey moon coin jar looking for wheat pennies. While he was doing this he found a 1934 buffalo nickel. I thought it was pretty neat so we started looking up key dates and errors and searched through my entire collection.

I have loved nickels ever since. If I start having luck with other change my mindset could switch. But the majority of my collecting comes from searching boxes of pennies and nickels.

However, my favorite thing is probably pulling wheat pennies out of the "leave a penny take a penny", it annoys the bejeezus out of my fiancee and I think it's hilarious. The cashiers never seem to care, but they always give me weird looks when they see me eyeing up their penny stash like a kid on Christmas morning.

PHEW glad I'm not the only one that does this.
And yup some of them looks are pricless.

I also get em when I hear that silver jingle as the cashier is digging in the dimes & quarters for change back.

Edit: to answer the question Bust, barber coins and Lincoln,Indian penny's

Call me crazy but what I used to do was take $1-$2 worth of clad cup it in both hands and jingle it.
then put 2-3 silver dimes with it cup your hands and jingle it.
Believe it or not you can tune the ears to the jingle.

These days I'll say like Mark Shield Nickels. And half dimes...are in Vogue :)
But since I'm working on the 12 step process you know I have issues with round, square , triangle shaped shinny medal objects .
I've have gotten a lot better....
These days I try my best not to drool , steal out of the take a penny ,and avoid coin star machines.
Well the coin star thing was by court order....
It seems that me drooling as a customer was dumping their piggy banks into the machine gummed up the machine and caused a short circuit .
However I am getting better! :)
And stories about the church collection plate, and the Salvation army kettle are not true.
