what is wrong with the mint

I'm very confused right now I've noticed that the shipping date keeps changing on the ASE 20th Anniversary Silver Coin Set & also on the 2006 United States Mint American Legacy Collection.

Does anyone know when these items are going to actually ship? :headbang:

never, they will change the shipping date to the infinity sign and just leave it at that

Thanks for the replies :thumb: I see they have changed the ship date for a few other things I ordered also. This is the first time i've ever ordered anything from the mint and it's getting me dizzy lol

 

These anniversary Eagles should arrive in time for Christmas. Lets hope!!!!

 

kind of in the same shape. suppose to get the gold set with a ship date of 10/06 . my poor credit card is dead in the water becouse this would max it out. Where i work we have quotos every day and we have to do meet this before we can go to the house. Really does not seem to be that complicated but apparently it is. well at least the ship date has not changed in the last week. please put this in the "for what it is worth" department . the last guess i have heard is they will begin shipping on 10/12 . think i will call the physic hot line and see it they have any information

 

It is confusing. When you call the mint, the recording tells you that you can also check the status on-line at the website. However, I have had at least two instances where the person I spoke to on the phone told me a different date than that which I was looking at on their website. I actually saw the date change everyday on the website for the AGE set until it hit 10/6 at which it has stayed and was not shipped Friday. I did ask when they would start to cancel orders that would not be filled on the AGE set and was told it had not started yet.

 

good post on here i enjoy what others are saying. my understanding is that the "in process" is used when there is available inventory. my credit card has already been checked and it is fine. i was also told by two "specialist" that i would get it. course i have been around long enuff to know do not believe everything you hear. I have the 10/6 ship date with no shipment. I have the silver set also ordered and i do not think the sales rep. know when it is really going to be shipped they are told one thing computer says another according to one mint chick. oh well time for football

 

I was told by one customr service rep that I would be getting the set, then another told me that there is no way of knowing. I am just curious to see if others have had their orders cancelled. Last thing I heard from the mint rep was that they are scheduled for a mid-Oct shipping (whatever that means). Obviously, some orders have been filled so I guess we just need to be patient to see what happens. I have my fingers crossed.

 

think that means 2nd week in oct. but as you have said a lot have been shipped. apparently not everyone is on the same page so to speak. sounds a lot like where i work. good luck dragon think the next few days should tell the story

 

i just checked my order for the silver set... pushed to december ;:

 

my order was placed at 12:20 the first day for the ase set and the web site says expected ship date 10-12

 

I ordered both the AGE and ASE on the first day. They just shipped my AGE and i should be getting that monday. And i have my 5 sets for the ASE with a ship date of 10/12/06, changed from 12/8 last week. Once I get my AGE set, off to PCGS to have them graded. i'd be so tempted to open the package though. must fight temptation.

 

It appears to me that the people who placed their order for the AGE before the "sell out" may have gotten them . Also have heard that at this point the mint has a lot of discreation ( on any left overs) on how they distribute such as filling as many small orders as they can to "maximize distribution" . anyone have any thoughts along this line . Think maybe i have just heard to much. will quit listening very soon for my own good thanks group

I'm with you. I have talked with at least three mint customer service reps and have been told a different story each time. It is my own fault if I do not get one. I ordered my ASE set the first day, but hedged on the AGE set because I thought it was too expensive. I think it might be a bad sign that no one has reported their orders being cancelled and I thought I heard that the Mint took quite a few orders after the announcement was made that the set was sold out. Let's just hope the Mint does decide to fill one order requests versus the 10 allowed. Good luck.

 

thanks for the information ND. I was one of those who did not relize it was there till after it was pretty well gone. But when one get letters requesting conformation and then told you should get one after all i done to get a simple shipping address changed, it really burns my cookies if i do not get one. but life will go on and will chalk it up to life experience. the post of yours was most thoughtful

You seem to have either a very good source or you yourself are "in the know" on what is happening at the Mint. Do you happen to know how long the Mint took orders for the AGE set after it was sold out? I heard on one of the television coin shows that the set sold out in two hours. I know bama guy posted that he believes the Mint has a lot of discretion on filling orders. However, it seems to me that if the Mint sold out that fast, those of us who ordered on the second day are most likely out of luck. I ordered on the second day and the status on the website still shows 10/6/06 as an estimated shipping date. That day has come and gone. Any info appreciated.
