Are you talking about the silver eagle? If, so I don't really see anything, what makes you think it's an error?
It has what looks like burn marks on it.They had to have happened while being minted because it came in a package from the U.S. Mint.
Actually it didn't, good catch, I was thinking of the Ws', the '03 is just bullion, and would have come in rolls from the mint, no packaging. Imo it's still just common toning though.
Look at the pic of the backside between the word "United" and "1oz" the burn mark digs down into the coin almost like a dent. Also check under the word "Fine" you can clearly see grind marks. This is not a preowned coin.
I wouldn't get excited there is no error on this coin just toning. I would put it in a airtite and put it away for when Silver goes out the roof.
It's really just toning. Something to do with the holder it was stored in. What was it in when you bought it?
It came in a plastic sealed bag.If you guys say it isn't an error than it for sure is not.Like the other guy said,I just got a little excited. Thanks for the info everyone! :hail:
I would almost bet there were tiny pinholes in the bag right where the toning is. Have seen the same thing happen with 2x2,s
