It's as advertised, a "love token" made from a genuine half dime. Someone engraved the coin, presumably as a token of affection. Some love tokens are quite plain and others, very intricate.

Do they carry any value other than to the one they were given? I had never heard of this that i can remember, but the engraving on this seems to be pretty nice.
    Thanks Kent

They are simply items that some people collect, and it's obviously a very individual thing with respect to preferences and values.

Well some people collect them so that gives them value, and some collectors try to find ones engraved with the initials of THEIR loved ones so they can continue thier job of being a token of affection.

Yeah, I have seen people look for them for this reason.

As far as collector value, if someone had a collection of love tokens they might be willing to pay a premium but for the most part they probably don't have much value other than melt.

True but there are more collectors of love tokens out there than you might imagine. I think it is a fair deal at $10. Not a great deal, but a fair one.
