What is this?

    Can you tell me what I have here on my 1943 S nickel. It looks like a shard lays over the S but was printed on top of by the O. Is this rare or worth any money? What kind of error is this?

    It looks like it is a lamination defect, but it is strange how it hides the upper loop of the "S".

    Coins are never printed. They are struck/minted

    Paper currency is printed with ink.
