While coin roll hunting in dimes found this penny. I new to collecting but don't think this is an error. Anybody know what it was cut with? Thanks.
When I was a boy, we would rub a penny on the sidewalk until it was ground to the size of a dime, then we could use it in a vending machine. This was in South Texas. We'd also use Mexican ten centavos (value .0125¢) as a quarter. We were such hoodlums!
Nah! Hoodlums didn't waste their time grinding pennies down on the sidewalk. They stole the vending machine. Chris
