What is this?

I found a Lincoln penny, which has a yellow gold color. Any ideas about it. Thanks.

Yeah somebody used it to fuse a electrical breaker. Substituted for a fuse or some other electrical use. Maybe even somewhere in a car fuse box or battery terminal. The only problem was it didn't work. There was a short between hot and neutral(ground) or positive and negative. May even gotten the shock of their life.
