I found this in a roll of halves and thought it sounded hollow or something Popped it open and What is this? I thought y'all could help. Thanks, Tyler
It is a magicians coin. I found one once, didn't know they could pop open then so I cut it in half with a bandsaw...
I'm not sure how the trick is done, I just know that's what they are. It's actually amazing to me how many of these things were made. It seems like you hear about people finding them all the time.
Yep, it's a magician's coin. One of many, many coin tricks. If you google magician's coins, you'll see the various types available.
Hehe. I cant believe you found that in a roll... Its a trick where you make two coins ( 20 centavo an quarter ) turn into just the half. Its called scotch and soda. Got about a $15 magic trick there  only reason i know this is because i do magic too. Bahaa.
If i told how it worked i'd ruin it for millions so here you can buy it and it tells you what the effect is... http://www.dreamlandmagic.com/scotch-soda-coin-trick.html Where the real magic is, is when you "upgrade" to all real coins for the effect and dont use any hollowed coins.
I found one of those recently also... Had me baffled until I got some advice and pried it open. It's a cool find, congrats. - Justin
Yes. You have to every time you want to repeat the effect at a later time. They make a "bang ring" that you use to open them.
