Edit: forgot to mention I was talking about the D mintmark

I've been digging through rolls and using a cup method lately but found something interesting. I've never found a grease strike error and due to the research I've done I've seen that there aren't that many 2008 Lincoln Cent varieties. I normally throw 08's into the recycle pile but this caught my eye.

The thing that struck me odd was that the rest of the coin was not messed with, and there doesn't seem to be any wear marks or file marks (probably can't tell from the pics but I checked.) Is this my first strike through grease error aka: worthless? Thanks!

(once I can get smaller pics that I can upload in the forum thread I'll do that since I know extra links to pics are annoying, sorry.)

im not the expert here but maybe one will step in. i dont believe that is a mintmark at all as its placement doesnt seem right. looks too high and too far to the right. i dont know if 2008 had no mintmark cents, but that d looks more like the other smaller marks on your coin that appear to be water drops. if it is indeed a d i would say it must be a filled d part of the die, since it is partially visible.

    Agreed, looks like a water-spot.
