I know this is one of the new morgans and it has the advanced release on it. I understand all that. But it looks like some type of foil label. Has anyone seen one of these before?
That. It is for an elite few dealers to buy up to 10% of the mintage at a 5% markup so they can sell them for almost 500.00.
They've used foil before. Pogue I believe initially had a golf foil label that ended up getting reholdered and some of the ship wrecks have had gold foil before. I believe thats the first foil that isnt gold though, first I've seen anyways
Anyway, the asking price on these "advanced release" labels have been 450+. I spotted this for sale and they were asking just under 400. I made an offer because I was wanting one Morgan and I wanted a CC. The seller accepted. I paid FDOI price for this. It is just a label. But I feel like mid 3's wasn't bad for this. I had never seen a foil label like this before.
It's my understanding that dealers can request special labels, and that may include the type of paper, so the foil paper was used.
The advanced release is driving the prices, not really the label style. A lot of people dont really like the foil, I dont like the gold ones but the silver looks like it would be nice. In this case though the advanced release is the biggest factor aside from the grade
