I believe that is about what they go for on ebay. At local coin shops you can get them a little cheaper. If they have a full date that helps the value a little also.
Interesting timing. Look at the value estimates made in this thread a few hours ago. It doesn't seem to be the same coin - a little higher grade and a slightly smaller offset.
I figured it was a tad high with whatever he paid for shipping, but if he really wanted it, I guess it was worth it...

The buyer paid a high price for a dateless off center. With a date, especially for current years, perhaps, but dateless, no more than $3, tops.
Neat coin, wish that would show up in one of my rolls. It would be cool to own as an error even if it's not worth much. I'm sure that would get more conversation and interest by non-collectors than some of my silver proofs.
