what is this guy up too?? going through my first box of cents, and throughout 6 rolls so ive found like 30 cents that are all smooth and they look.. grainy and some of them even look scorched black.. completley smooth and grainy look.. any info on this?? is this an acid wash?
ya sure if your on later.. im gonna finish this box then post some on.. they take a while to get on the comp.
well, there ya go. hope these help with the verdict.. so im done one box, found a bunch of world coins in there.. 5 to be exact... not sure why people would wanna get rid of neat coins like that...
Some of them look like they spent some time under ground, but I could be wrong. Some might have endured an acid bath too. One thing I'm sure of though, they are pretty darn ugly. Phoenix
I'd say.. , under 15X magnification.. they have a million little lines and swiggles and what not on them... thanks for the quick reply phoenix
snaz: They look like they were metal detecting coins. I have a lot of them, and these were probably tumbled to clean them off. In the old days (10 years ago, or so) I could just roll them and my bank sent them to the fed as mutilated. Now, they won't accept them and I have to dump them else where.
