The question is... What error or issue do you have with the coin? Also, please show the Obverse of coin. Thanks!!
The obverse is attached I thought, so I hope this works. Look at under the wing, I do not think it is a strike thru, or any kind of doubling
If you are referring to the crook of the left wing (as you look at the reverse), then I would hazard a guess it is a large die chip, modernly known nowadays as an Interior Die Break…IDB. The quarter is a ‘65, the first year of release of clad coinage and has fairly moderate wear. IDB’s do not have much of an added premium even in better condition coins…imo…Spark
The coin look fake to me. Have you weighed it, is it magnetic? Mushy details, reverse lettering is at the edge, eagle breast looks too pronounced. Reverse edge has lip at 10 & 2 o'clock positions, looks very suspect.
Ed, I agree with the clash. The IDB looks to be riding high on the wing so it may have started with the clash. A better close-up would help but probably a moot point…imo…Spark
I have no idea how to post a new thread but I have a very weird mint mark on an 1878-s Morgan dollar. Lots of pictures taken with microscope for coins. No idea how to upload them?
Pictures please. Start your own thread or you might not get help. Here: Go to error section. Up top at right. Click "New Thread". Then title it and start typing in the body of message. When done, click "upload File". Then find your file and click "Open". wait for download and Click "Full Image". It may take some time as the website is "turtle slow" right now. Then click Post Reply.
I did not see that until your overlay, so thank you very much. I am new at this and i thought it was a cool error I could show my grandkids, it helps knowing what kind it is. Thank You so much
