What is this coin?

    I bought this coin from Spanish dealer. But the dealer was not sure about the coin..

    My first instinct is that it's from the later Umayyads of Spain, but that's just off the top of my head. Some experts in Islamic coinage should be along eventually.

    @Parthicus is correct they very much look like Islamic Umayyads of Spain. I found a completed/sold auction on Ebay...item number 362679586100 that looks close to your coin. Dirham denomination.

    Yes, Umayyad was my first thought as well. I collect Moroccan coinage, and the Umayyads ruled African Mediterranean for a period between 610 - 750 AD. Pretty interesting reading, if you want to learn more: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umayyad_Caliphate
