Found this coin in a junk box a few years ago still trying to figure out what it is: https://www.facebook.com/7174911717...7491171748030/717495805080900/?type=3&theater Any Ideas?
Its what is called a "Rechenpfennig" in German, a counting jeton. Your piece probably dates to the 15. or 16. century.
So even though it was cheap, it's still pretty old. 15th or 16th century seems pretty exciting to me.
Nothing wrong with jetons, there are some attractive ones, rare enough and quite cheap in regard to their rarity as people often overlook them GASTON D'ORLEANS (1627-1650) Jeton, argent - 1642 - Atelier de Trévoux GASTON .
