I recently was given these two bills and though they are in poor shape, I was amazed at the size. Anyone have some bills even smaller? (Dollar is there for comparison only).
Probably the Russian postage stamp money of 1917-18, or their Ukrainian equivalent issued 1918-19 - they only measure 3cmx2.5cm (1.18x.98in).
I own a little one cent emergency note from Boise Idaho from 1943, not imaged yet, but it is only 1" square.
I believe Guineas lists a Romanian note as the smallest official issue. A 1 pfennig notgeld from Passau is considered the smallest note of any type.
The Romanian notes are the small change issue from 1917, I own a set of them but they are even larger than some notes from Morocco for 1 franc ca. 1942 that I also have examples of.
