When looking at heritage auctions for Capped Bust Half dollar I see there are three sections. I understand what the difference is between the 50 C and the Half Dol. markings but what is the Type 1, Type 1, and Type 3? Type 1 - Lettered Edge (1807-36) Type 2 - Reeded edge, and says "50 CENTS" on reverse (1836-37) Type 3 - Reeded edge, says "HALF DOL." on Rev (1838-39)
I just realized that the difference between the two groups of coins I was seeing were MS and PR not the type. Thank you @Beefer518, you make this community great. I am very new to collecting and I appreciate the help!
