Does anyone know what is the cheapest chartered bank note from Canada is? If possible, can you give us some details such as the bank's name, the date, the Charlton & Pick Specialised catalogue numbers, the prices,& whether it is for an issued banknote or as an unsigned remainder banknote? The unsigned remainders are a legitimate part of notaphily,as are the Specimen banknotes. Aidan.
Aidan, just browsing thru my catalog I see 3 notes for the Agricultural Bank priced at VG $8.00 US. Agricultural Bank established in Toronto, Upper Canada 1834. Issue of 1837 1, 2 & 5 dollars = 5, 10 & 25 shillings. Lou
Lou,do you know what 'PS' numbers they are? If you have any,can you please post some photos? What are the other prices for the notes graded F. & higher? My only chartered bank note is a 1935 Bank of Montreal $5 from Quebec.I bought it in an auction late last year for just over NZ$60.It was graded F. in the auction, but I showed it to my boss who graded it VF.,which is even better. The Pick prices are quite good.I wonder what the Charlton prices (C$) are like on these. Aidan.
No I don't have these notes, but the cataloge that I have is World Paper Money (specialized issues) and it list the notes as follows: S1561 1 dollar vg 8.00 vf 20.00 unc 60.00 S1562 2 dollar vg 8.00 vf 20.00 unc 60.00 S1564 5 dollar vg 8.00 vf 20.00 unc 60.00 Lou
There are 2 listed for the 5 dollar notes. They are listed as follows: S558 Sign. W.A. Bog and C.B. Gordon Sign. J. Dodds and C.B. Gordon Both notes are priced the same. vg 15.00 vf 35.00 unc 125.00 Lou
Lou,thanks for that.Mine is the W.A. Bog/C.B. Gordon one.I am surprised that both different signature combinations have the same date.I knew that around the NZ$60 mark was about the right price I paid. Aidan.
