Thailand. Songkhla. Circa 18-19 century AD

    Large tin cast coin.

    Obv: 振興通寶。Zhen Xing Tong Bao.
Rev: Thai "Songkhla". Jawi "Negeri Singgora".

Back then what is now Songkhla Thailand was an independent Muslim majority state called Singgora. Now the state is no more and Songkhla has become one of Southern Thailand's more popular destinations. This coin bears a mark of the Chinese presence in Southern Thailand mixed with Thai and Malay influences.
