I have coin that is approxiamately 1 1/8 in diameter. It weighs 4 3/4 grams. It si non-metalic. One side is punch stamped XII under the XII looks like a bar with a dot on each side. The other side has another punch stamp. Looks like an X with III under the X and an 8 under the left I. May be more detail but it is worn. Also on the same side has a VII or VIII. May be more but it is worn. Can someone tell us what this is??? It is definitely a early rare coin?

It's a Spanish Marvedis that has been revalued several times.
It may have started out as a 4 Maravedis of Philip II/III and was then counterstamped to XII and VIII at different times by Philip III/IV.

    Value $5-$20
