    My father found this in a field in South Carolina-don't know what it is. Can someone help me out?

    It's a 5 Kopecks from Imperial Russia, can you read a year ? It should be 172x... 1727 maybe...?

    There are different mintmarks and varieties and depending on which one it is, it can be worth a few dollars to hundreds from what I have seen on ebay.

    I can't quite tell what mintmark and variety it is but it's still amazing how your dad managed to find that in S. Carolina.
