What is "fire rage"??

    who knows, but I take it to mean it was in a fire and then cleaned up, so probably if sent for grading would come back "cleaned, questionable color", or just one of the two.

    most places want $30-$32 for a peace dollar cull/ungradeable. probably still worth it for around that.

    Thanks guys. I should have thought to look at his other items! Am guessing that he's experimenting with techniques, one of which may or may not have involved burning down his house. No pain, no gain though right?

    This one's not bad. I see that his experiments meet with varied success. Despite the fact that the date of this coin makes the toning even less credible, I suppose it's a virtue that he hasn't here mangled a coin of any appreciable collector value.

    Then again: I opened a box of Kennedy halves which I've had for decades and was amazed to see that most are toned (though not technicolor toned). Even most of the copper clad ones. And all of these were and are encased in plastic holders. I'll post some pics in a while.

    The date has very little to do with it. The look on that one would never get a straight grade
