I’m in Michigan, bought a coin off Ebay from seller in Iowa. Got tracking but says ESUSxxxxxx in tracking? Today I got delivery notice but received nothing. Who is the shipping service?
I think this is it,https://parcelsapp.com/en/carriers/easyship#:~:text=ESUS is is eBay's standard,it's a few days off.
It's USPS I think. The tracking is limited and sketchy. Good bet you will get it tomorrow as the "delivered" status comes up when the item gets to the USPS destination facility, not your address.
I've got several of those recently, within the past six months. They arrive at my mailbox via usps, whether they handled it from A to B or DHL then the postal service is anyone's guess but these seem to arrive a day or two behind straight mail. The tracking info between the two on EBAY's end is different, not as detailed as the usps parcels. But never had a real issue either way.
Sounds like 'eBay standard envelope', a special arrangement between eBay and USPS that allows coins, stamps and trading cards that sell for $20 or less to be mailed with tracking and insurance for as little as 53¢. The labels must be printed directly from the seller's eBay account. The tracking is only visible on the eBay site and isn't always perfect but it's been a great thing for buying and selling inexpensive coins imo. https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/shipping/ebay-standard-envelope.html
What DLTSRQ said is exactly right. I sell coins on eBay and I use this shipping method for almost all of them unless it's a bigger order. The tracking is not reliable but it's included for free and it allows the seller to qualify for top-rated status, which you need to have 95% tracking to be eligible for. It also proves that you shipped the item. And best of all, it includes free insurance that pays out without any hassle if the coin is lost. The tracking often shows as delivered a day or more ahead of time which does lead to buyers contacting me and asking where their coin is, but it almost always arrives.
Welp, coin arrived a few days after tracking said delivered. It was an inexpensive coin, but a Cherry Pick. I would never use this Ebay envelope thing as it has poor execution and isn’t worth the price if it’s going to upset and make the customer look in the bushes for their “Delivered Coin”, which isn’t really delivered.
It's meant for items under $20 where sellers would normally not use any tracking (just a stamp on an envelope) or not bother to sell such items at all. Yes the part where it says delivered early is an issue, but the items mostly do arrive (and it's a positive for sellers-not something that can often be said about programs that eBay starts).
