There is an auction on eBay advertizing a coin as a "love token," but I don't know what that means. I will try to attach a picture, but all it looks like to me is a badly damaged coin. Is love token a euphemism for badly damaged? (i.e. it's been loved too much) or does it mean something else entirely? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. CD
I think thats more of a masonic token than a love token. Usually love tokens are small denominations like quarters or dimes and have one side ground flat. The initials of the significant other are then ornately engraved into the coin. Here is a better example. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=4370&item=3947003908&rd=1
You're welcome! It's always nice to see someone say a simple "thank you". A "Love Token" is a coin that has been inscribed. Your example would definately qualify. It's also an example of a "Holed Coin", but that's a subject for another thread.
